Professor of Pharmaceutics at the University of Southern Denmark, Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy

Supervisor of ESR1, ESR11 and ESR13

Background

Annette Bauer-Brandl is Professor in Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense. Her research interests cover solid state properties of drug compounds, formulation and processing technology of solid dosage forms especially for poorly soluble drug compounds, and their biopharmaceutical implications. Recently, she has focused on the passive transport of drug compounds through biological and artificial barriers. Her group has developed a novel artificial biomimetic barrier which enables her group to work towards new high throughput methods for prediction of bioavailability of drug formulations. She is the author of more than 200 research papers, short communications, reviews, book chapters and a monograph on tablet manufacturing technology and quality assurance.

As a member of the new ‘InPharma’ ITN she is engaged in establishing a new fully integrated, animal-free, end-to-end modelling approach in oral drug product development.
