International Day of Women and Girls in Science

On Sunday, February 11, 2024, we proudly join the global celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. As part of our commitment to innovation and inclusivity in InPharma, we continue to advance our fully integrated, animal-free approach to oral drug product development. Through our dedication to diversity and empowering women in STEM fields, we strive to make meaningful contributions to scientific progress on this important day.

Professor Brendan Griffin, our InPharma coordinator from the University College Cork adds “As an advocate of initiatives to advance equality diversity and inclusion in the field of science, I am pleased to be coordinating our InPharma Industrial Doctoral network.  This EU-funded project, involves of multinational team of over 50 researchers focusing research towards making drug development more predictable and reducing animal testing in pre-clinical studies by developing a fully integrated, animal-free, end-to-end modelling approach to oral drug development. This project exemplifies the spirit of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science by addressing societal goals while also recognising the importance of empowering women in STEM fields. By embracing such innovative methodologies, and challenging current norms, we not only foster progress in reducing animal testing in pharmaceutical research but also create opportunities for women to excel in their scientific careers.”
